MARAS - The Thunders Of Perun Are Stocking You....

MARAS in general is a black metal band from Gevgelija - Macedonia. They are formed in 2003 and they are definetelly the first band of this kind in Macedonia. As you already know, i am not much into black metal, but this is a band i enjoy checking out live! Their energy is something undescribable. Thought for the others is a strange combination and representation of the black metal, i personally found it great, inovative, endlessly creative and interesting. Believe me you haven't checked band who's similar to Maras! They are really unique, especially cause they are dealing with Macedonian folk elements. Pretty weird combo, but definetelly a band you just have to see live!!!

Their music is a fusion between the raw sounds of black metal mixed with Macedonian authentic folk elements and many other kinds of music. With their ideology based on Slavic paganism and epic historical themes. They have played with well known bands like: Ancient Rites, Besatt, Inferno, Adultery, The Stone..., spreading their idea for a type of "cosmopolitan" unity of all Aryans, especially the Slavic world, against the christianization of the pagans in Europa. In the winter of 2008 they are about to release their first full-length album.
